Celiac Disease is another topic I will be using for my research. When reading this article I found out what it was and what it targets and the reason why someone might or may have it. I found out that it can be a genetic thing and also two and one-half million Americans have this disease and the number is probably just going up. Also Celiac Disease can lead into more serious health problems for example if it were to keep going untreated the person how has this disease is at risk of getting Type 1 Diabetes. Although there are treatments for Celiac Disease if someone has it they would have to change the way they eat making it so that gluten, rye and barley were not in their diet. This also would mean no bread or beer for that person.
I can use this in my paper because of the information that i just got and also I can connect it with Lactose Intolerance Disease because they both have to do with the small intestine. There is something missing making it so that the small intestine cannot break down the foods and this is why people are getting or have Celiac Disease. I can also use and look more into the fact that it can run in the family.
